Mummy Clara first engaged us for Shance’s 2nd birthday party in 2016 in their own home. It was one elaborate party with a dessert table, hired chef, and floats in their home swimming pool. Yes, you heard it right – a swimming pool in their own home! Fast forward, two years, and as kids grow up, usually parents will bring them to indoor playgrounds. At least that’s what we do on some weekends to let our girl have a bit of fun in an air-conditioned environment (because she really perspires too much!).
So it was not surprise to us when Clara told us that Shance wanted to have his Jurassic Park dinosaur-themed 4th birthday party at an indoor playground too. But when Clara told us that it was going to be at Shangri-La, we were puzzled. For a moment we thought that it was an error because we didn’t know there was an indoor playground in Shangri-La! So we checked their website and found out that Shangri-La is the first hotel on Orchard Road to design and build an interactive play space for children, catering to both hotel guests as well as non-hotel guests. Another indoor playground option for families to head to! There can never be too many options!
We have shot quite a number of children birthday parties, and this was the first time that the couple also engaged a videographer to work alongside us, and it’s no other than the renowned Substance Films! How ironic it is that we both specialize in weddings but haven’t had the chance to work together on a wedding yet, but instead were shooting a birthday party together for the first time. 🙂
