We shot a destination wedding … right here in Singapore! Yup that’s right, it was a destination wedding for Carl & Ira who are both based in England. Carl is English while Ira is Indonesian who eventually moved to England. And how they decided on a wedding here was because it would be too cold in England for Ira’s family, and it would be too far to travel to Bali for Carl’s friends and family. So the middle ground was Singapore, and we couldn’t be happier with their decision! 🇸🇬 Other than 2 Singaporean friends of the couple, us and our videographer friends at Vocare Weddings were the only other Singaporeans at the wedding! 😄
We shot a wedding at Fullerton Bay Hotel in the past, but only at the floating pod. This was our first time up onto the roof bar at Lantern and we have to say the view was really nice! As this was Carl’s second wedding and he has a grown-up son, something very unique here was that his son was his witness to the wedding instead of the other way round of a parent witnessing his/her son’s/daughter’s marriage. Another first for us!
During the dinner, one very funny moment that we still remember was Carl telling all his guests how he learned to say 我爱你 to Ira (as Ira is Indonesian Chinese). He broke down the 3 words and linked them to individual English words which are Wall, Eye, Knee! One of the photos we captured was him pointing to his knee to illustrate his point. This helped him to remember these 3 very important words! Something for all non-Chinese speaking grooms-to-be/brides-to-be to take note of!
