Having already shot a wedding at Botanico, we were delighted to find out that we were going to shoot at another of 1-Host’s gorgeous venue β The Summerhouse! Located in the quiet enclave of Seletar Aerospace Park, this Anglo-Malayan black-and-white house built in the early 1920s has a rich history. Combined with the lush greenery in its compound, the outdoor solemnisation area is a stunning sight. If only all solemnisation ceremonies could be held in such pretty venues! π
Anand and Evangelyn were recommended to us via a mutual friend that I had with Evangelyn. When we met them at our home-office (like we always do for all our couples), we were surprised to find out that Evangelyn has such an interesting background! She has a Chinese father and an Indian mother while her mother tongue is Malay, and she can also speak Chinese and Hokkien. I think that’s truly Singaporean right there! A mash-up of all the cultures.
One interesting feature about the couple is how well they seem to know each other. Midway through the wedding lunch, the emcee played a game by asking the couple questions and having them pen their answer while sitting with their backs facing each other. Almost all the time, they had the same answer, to the bemusement of the emcee and us! We have seen this game played a number of times at weddings, and this has to be the first time that the couple keeps getting all the answers the same. The emcee wanted to implement a forfeit but she could never do so! In the end, due to time constraints, the game just had to end. π
