Organising a wedding proposal in Singapore from the other side of the world can be quite a challenging task! And that’s where Flytographer comes in to play a very important role in helping the groom-to-be organise a surprise wedding proposal to his sweetheart in a destination city. Before this, we had a Colombian propose at Gardens by the Bay, and now a British picking Raffles Hotel as his choice of location! John-Oliver had only been to Singapore twice, and both times very briefly. He had in mind somewhere romantic and perhaps quieter than the main hustle and bustle of the city centre, with preferably a touch of colonial architecture. And the lawn at Raffles Hotel seemed to perfectly fit the bill! We have been there a number of times in the morning and it always feels very serene and somehow has a picturesque look with the greens, and small fountain, and the colonial white building at the back. And we knew that this spot had to be the perfect spot for John-Oliver to propose to Cara.
The morning of 16 Sep came around, and the plan was for John-Oliver to bring Cara to the Tiffin Room at Raffles Hotel for breakfast. This was the only way to justify the reason for heading out so early in the morning! The rain in the early morning threatened to scupper our plans but thankfully, the rain stopped about an hour before the planned proposal timing. Because it was the F1 weekend, we planned on having the proposal in the morning so that there would be less people. Luckily for us, there was no one at the lawn when John-Oliver proposed! Cara was definitely surprised and shocked by the sudden proposal as she never suspected John-Oliver would pop the question during their holiday in Singapore. The happiness and surprised expression on her face was priceless, and her tears flowed freely. We couldn’t be any happier for the lovely couple! 🙂
