This was our 3rd time in 2016 documenting a surprise wedding proposal, and it just gets us more and more excited each time! (Check out the previous two proposal shoots at Gardens by the Bay Indochine and Marina at Keppel Bay!) The surprise, anticipation, excitement and love all rolled into one emotion is starting to feel like an addiction to us now. Leonard had been planning the proposal at Coney Island for some time, and we were pretty much involved in many aspects of the planning as well, from suggesting suitable props to planning the timing of the proposal itself. The more involved we got, the more we couldn’t wait for the day to come!
Leonard enlisted the help of two of his friends, as well as three of Nicole’s friends. They put in a lot of effort to set up and beautify the bare structure at Coney Island. Plenty of fairylights were used, and you will never go wrong with fairylights! The plan (at least to Nicole) was that there would be a dinner with Leonard and his colleagues at Punggol Settlement, but because they were early, they would first take a stroll to Coney Island since they have not been there before. When they arrived at Punggol Settlement, Alvin started taking on his stealth mode and was hiding, running, and shooting them during their 10-minute walk to Coney Island. In his own words, “it was exhilarating”!
Once Nicole saw the beautiful setup, she had her mouth in her hands and it stayed there throughout! She certainly did not expect a normal dinner to turn out to become a proposal to her instead! To say that she was happy and surprised would definitely be an understatement. She simply couldn’t hold back her tears and we were smiling away while snapping. Feel so blessed and privileged to be able to play our part in this pivotal day of their relationship!
