If you ask Liang Song and Hui Min about their idea of a perfect date, their answer may surprise you. No frou-frou, candlelit dinners atop the city’s most expensive hotel restaurant. They’re happy with a down-to-earth date of Bak Chor Mee at a hawker centre, or a relaxing meal at a café. From taking long walks to dinner & movies, this couple enjoys the simple life and quality time.
The couple first met at the Calvary Baptist Church years back when they were still in secondary school. They only got together as a couple some four years later, towards the end of their junior college days. They currently teach Sunday School and are still very involved in the church’s activities. Since a large portion of their lives had revolved around their church, it was only fitting that their wedding be held there.
The wedding was simple, sweet, with no traditional gatecrashing games. That gave us time to capture some moments of the couple just being themselves before they marched down the aisle. Liang Song arrived at his bride’s home, and they set off to the church together. Hui Min — in a vintage-inspired gown of lace and beading — marched down the aisle with her father, accompanied by her bridal party who were in subtle peach gowns.
The ceremony was accentuated with meaningful prayers from the church congregation, in addition to the solemnization of the vows. You could really feel the love and support of the church community for this couple, who had grown up together within its walls, its times of worship. A happy lunch reception followed, filled with laughter and styled in a feminine, rustic chic style. 🙂

We found Awesome Memories Photography through The Wedding Scoop. When we first met Alvin and Michelle, we could immediately sense their sincerity and dedication in wanting to make our day as perfect for us as they could and they definitely did not disappoint. We really liked how they paid attention to all the little details. They also managed to help us capture little moments that we missed because we were just too busy. Alvin and Michelle complemented each other and they worked really well together. We also really like how they were able to make us feel relaxed and take really natural photos of us. Thank you Awesome Memories Photography for giving us lasting memories of our special day!
