What kind of birthday gift do you give to your loved one – Branded goods, Staycation, a movie and a good meal perhaps? For his wife’s birthday, loving husband Anson chose Awesome Memories (pun intended :p) by having a family outdoor photoshoot with his lovely wife, Serene, and their cute child, Azel. Generally, we usually don’t think of photoshoots as a gift, but perhaps it may turn out to be the best gift of all, capturing precious family moments. This is especially so when you have a kid and family photoshoots like these serve as a snapshot of a moment in time when you look back at the pictures in years to come.
How many of us don’t remember where we grew up, especially if we only stayed in that place for a few years before moving to another house? For me, it was easy as I grew up in the same house for 20+ years since the day I was born. On the other hand, hubby tells me that he grew up in Chai Chee for the first 2 years of his life. This was what his parents told him, but he has no re-collection of it. Could be because he was too young then, or could also perhaps be his memory is not too good. :p Haha..
It was with this in mind that we decided to start the shoot in the estate where Anson and Serene lives. Afterall, they will be living there for at least the next 3 to 4 years and it would be nice to have some shots of the estate of their very first house. More significantly, this is the place where Azel will grow up in, and he can look back many years from now at the photos with his daddy and mummy. 🙂
Both Anson and Serene are Math teachers and that formed the base for our creativity in terms of thinking about what kind of props to include for the shoot. We love creative couples and we absolutely loved Serene’s idea of coming up with the ‘x’, ‘x-29’ and ‘x+2’ placards to represent their age! The sin2x + cos2x = 1 placards also tickled us cos it’s like soooooo-Math. We also suggested getting a measuring tape for Anson to measure Azel’s height while Azel himself will hold a ruler to measure his body width. Other than these Math-related props, they also had a cool-looking castle tent and they brought along all of Azel’s favourite stuffs – ball, books, cars. Looks like Azel will grow up to be a studious and sporty man with a love for cars! Sounds like an awesome catch for all ladies in the future. Hee hee…
Azel was getting a little tired as the shoot progressed, but his eyes lit up when he saw the water playground nearby at Punggol Waterway Park and there was only one thing that was going to keep him happy. And so we headed there! He was a little afraid at first, but once he got the hang of it, you could see he enjoyed himself thoroughly playing with the water! Sporting parents Anson and Serene also got themselves wet even though they didn’t bring an extra set of clothing to change into.
We ended off with some shots of Anson and Serene simulating playing badminton. Afterall, it was racket games which brought them closer together during courtship days. Other than badminton, they also played tennis and squash. It was originally intended for them to be playing badminton for real, but somehow, the shuttlecock got lost along the way. What a pity! Azel got into the act by playing with their rackets too! Let’s see which racket sport he will take up in the future.
And now, for all the photos… 🙂
